The Challenges of Model Making
In model making, every detail contributes to the realism of the scenery. Hills, rocks, mountains, tunnels and landscapes must blend naturally into the model while respecting its proportions and the limitations of the available space.
However, creating these three-dimensional features can be time-consuming, often requiring several different materials to be assembled before the final appearance of the scenery can even be developed.
Thanks to its shape-memory properties, Form’It offers a different approach. The material can be cut, crumpled and shaped directly by hand to create realistic terrain in just a few simple steps, retaining the shape it has been given.

Landscapes & Natural Scenery
Form’It makes it easy to create irregular terrain and natural shapes without having to carve every element from a solid material. The textile can be crumpled, folded and shaped by hand to form mountains, cliffs, rocks and rugged landscapes.
Its shape-memory properties then allow the sculpted volumes to retain their shape. The scenery can be reworked as often as needed to emphasize a slope, modify a rock formation or adjust the terrain to the dimensions of the model.
The collection's mineral finishes can be used directly to provide realistic textures, while Form’It Canvas can be painted to create customized shades, shadows and depth effects. The range includes several rock and stone finishes, such as Stone, Rock, Alpine Grey, Utah and Lava.

Model Railways & Dioramas
For model railway layouts and dioramas, the scenery often needs to fit precisely around tracks, tunnels, bridges and the various technical elements of the model.
Thanks to its flexibility before shaping, Form’It can be cut and molded directly around these elements. This makes it possible to create a mountain with a railway tunnel running through it, a rocky wall alongside the tracks or natural-looking terrain that discreetly conceals technical components of the layout.
The material's lightweight structure is also an advantage for large railway layouts or models that need to be transported. It adds volume without requiring a particularly heavy supporting structure and can be adjusted directly during installation.
